Cooper King Distillery has teamed up with the Natural History Museum to launch an exclusive carbon-negative gin, available to purchase at the Museum Shop or online at www.nhmshop.co.uk.

Created using fresh basil, beautifully balanced with fragrant lemongrass and aromatic clove, this bright, herbaceous gin will make the perfect sustainable Christmas gift for friends and family who enjoy a refreshing G&T.

Green Credentials

For every 70cl bottle, innovatively cold-distilled in small batches using 100% renewable energy, one kilogramme of carbon dioxide equivalent is removed from the atmosphere (including carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases) and one square metre of English woodland is planted through the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust. The packaging is sustainably produced, with a lightweight bottle made from 55% recycled glass and labelled by hand at the distillery.

Carla Treasure, Buyer for the Natural History Museum shop, says:

“Our product ranges are inspired by the wonders of the natural world, so it has been really exciting working with Cooper King Distillery to create this innovative, delicious gin.

“Our ambition is to become a leader in sustainable retail, so we’re delighted to offer such an environmentally friendly product that has such a beautiful taste. As for the name, Discovery is what we hope people experience when they visit the Museum.”

Chris Jaume, who founded independent, crowd-funded business Cooper King Distillery with scientist-turned-distiller Dr Abbie Neilson commented:

“The Museum's pledge to cut emissions to net zero by 2035 is exactly aligned with our own philosophy. We're also keen to encourage advocates for the planet - and this gin is a brilliant and inventive way to spread the word and promote positive change.”

Proceeds from all orders help the Museum continue carrying out pioneering research, care for internationally important collections and inspire people to take better care of the natural world. For more information and to purchase visit www.nhmshop.co.uk.
