Annual Impact Report 2025
The Annual Impact Report is produced by our charity partner Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) each year to record and reflect on the partnership’s achievements, and our plans for the following year. Download the report here.
It’s nice to take a moment at the end of the year to look back on the accumulated good we’ve achieved. It all adds up pretty quickly - in fact, since we partnered with the YDMT in 2018 we have now donated £51,673.96 to their amazing projects.
Background
Since selling our first bottle of gin, we have been partnered with YMDT to help fund some of their key environmental projects: planting native broadleaf woodland since 2018 and restoring wildflower meadows since 2022.
With the long-awaited arrival of our flagship Cooper King Single Malt Whisky in 2023, we increased our commitment to protecting the environment by supporting a third project with YDMT – the Rural Apprenticeship Scheme.
This year, in addition to the donations we make to YDMT for every bottle sold, we have also been out then getting our hands dirty. Back in March we headed out to plant over 800 trees along the River Wharfe near Beamsley. And then in July (not that you would have guessed it from the weather) we headed to a site near Ripon to manage a meadow area that was going to be resown from a healthy meadow. We learnt to scythe and cleared a massive area, including removing a load of invasive Himalayan Balsam.
Who Is Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust?
Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) is a small charity doing big things to support the people, landscape and wildlife of the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding areas. They deliver inspirational projects covering areas such as education and outreach, woodland creation, meadow restoration and heritage conservation. They exist to tackle climate change and reduce biodiversity loss, while inspiring more people to connect with nature, to learn new skills and to improve their health and wellbeing.
Since 2010, they have supported 55 young people through the rural apprenticeship scheme. More than 80% went into full-time employment or further education.
